Reviewer Guidelines
Impact in Computics values the expertise and dedication of its reviewers in maintaining the quality and integrity of scholarly publishing. Reviewers are expected to provide fair, objective, constructive, and timely evaluations while adhering to the journal's ethical standards and the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Reviewer Responsibilities
- Provide objective, unbiased, and constructive evaluations.
- Assess the originality, significance, methodology, results, conclusions, and overall scientific quality of the manuscript.
- Identify strengths as well as areas requiring improvement.
- Support comments with clear explanations and evidence whenever possible.
- Complete reviews within the requested review period or notify the editor if additional time is required.
- Inform the editor immediately if you are unable to complete the review.
Before Accepting a Review
- Accept a review invitation only if the manuscript matches your area of expertise.
- Decline the invitation if a conflict of interest exists.
- Decline if you cannot provide a review within the requested timeframe.
- Notify the editor promptly if circumstances prevent completion of the review.
Confidentiality
- All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
- Do not share, distribute, discuss, or reproduce the manuscript without permission from the editor.
- Do not use unpublished information for personal research or professional advantage.
- Do not upload confidential manuscripts or any part of their content to generative AI systems or third-party services.
Ethical Responsibilities
- Declare any financial, institutional, collaborative, or personal conflicts of interest before beginning the review.
- Report suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated or falsified data, image manipulation, unethical research practices, citation manipulation, or other forms of research misconduct.
- Maintain professional, respectful, and impartial communication throughout the review process.
Preparing the Review
Reviewers are encouraged to evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:
- Originality and novelty of the research.
- Scientific significance and contribution to the field.
- Appropriateness of the research methodology.
- Validity and reproducibility of the results.
- Quality of data analysis and interpretation.
- Consistency between objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
- Adequacy of references and citation of relevant literature.
- Overall clarity, organization, and presentation of the manuscript.
Writing Constructive Comments
- Provide clear, respectful, and professional comments.
- Critique the manuscript rather than the authors.
- Explain recommendations with sufficient detail.
- Offer practical suggestions that help improve the manuscript.
- Avoid inappropriate, offensive, or personal remarks.
Editorial Recommendation
At the end of the review, reviewers are asked to recommend one of the following editorial decisions:
- Accept – The manuscript is suitable for publication with no further revisions.
- Minor Revision – The manuscript requires only minor changes before publication.
- Major Revision – Significant revisions are required before the manuscript can be reconsidered.
- Reject – The manuscript does not meet the journal's publication standards or falls outside its scope.
The final editorial decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or the handling editor after considering all reviewer reports and editorial assessments.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
Reviewers must not use generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools to generate review reports or upload confidential manuscripts into AI systems. Editorial confidentiality must always be maintained. Limited use of AI for language improvement may be acceptable only if confidentiality is fully protected and the reviewer remains entirely responsible for the review content.
