Archiving Policy

Impaxon is committed to preserving the scholarly record by ensuring that published articles remain accessible, discoverable, and available for future generations. The publisher maintains measures to support the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content.

1. Policy Statement

Impaxon recognises that preserving published scholarly literature is a fundamental responsibility of academic publishing. We are committed to maintaining long-term access to published articles through appropriate preservation, backup, metadata management, and recognised preservation practices.

2. Permanent Online Availability

Published articles remain permanently available through the official Impaxon journal websites. Articles are made openly accessible immediately after publication and remain available without subscription barriers.

Impaxon aims to maintain continuous public access to published articles, supplementary materials, and associated metadata.

3. DOI Registration

Every published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref. The DOI provides a persistent and reliable identifier that supports citation, discovery, indexing, and long-term accessibility of scholarly publications.

Crossref metadata is maintained to improve discoverability across scholarly databases, library systems, indexing services, and research infrastructure.

4. Publisher Backups

Impaxon maintains routine backups of its publishing platform, article files, website content, and associated publication data to minimise the risk of accidental data loss.

Backup procedures form part of the publisher's operational continuity and preservation strategy.

5. Repository and Metadata Preservation

Published articles may also be preserved through institutional repositories, subject repositories, and other lawful scholarly repositories in accordance with the Repository Policy and applicable licensing terms.

Repository deposits complement, but do not replace, publisher-managed preservation of the version of record.

6. Long-Term Digital Preservation

Impaxon continually evaluates recognised digital preservation services to strengthen the long-term preservation of its published scholarly content.

As the publisher expands its publishing infrastructure and indexing coverage, additional preservation services may be adopted and this policy will be updated accordingly.

7. Internet Archiving

Where appropriate, publicly accessible journal webpages may also become available through recognised internet archiving initiatives, further supporting long-term public access to scholarly content.

8. Publisher Responsibility

Impaxon is responsible for preserving the integrity of the published scholarly record. Where corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, or other post-publication updates are necessary, the original publication record will be maintained in accordance with recognised publishing standards.

9. Future Preservation Services

Impaxon intends to participate in internationally recognised digital preservation programmes as the publisher continues to expand its publishing infrastructure and indexing coverage. Any additional preservation services adopted by the publisher will be reflected in this policy following their implementation.

10. Changes to this Policy

This policy may be revised periodically to reflect developments in digital preservation, scholarly publishing standards, and publisher infrastructure.
