Publication Process

Impact in Agriculture follows a structured publication process from submission to online publication. This page explains the main steps authors can expect after submitting a manuscript.

1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit manuscripts through the Impaxon Online Submission System. The submitted files must follow the journal template and include all required declarations.

2. Initial Editorial Check

The editorial office checks the manuscript for scope, formatting, required files, authorship information, ethical statements, conflicts of interest, funding details, data availability, and similarity concerns.

3. Editorial Assessment

The Editor-in-Chief or handling editor assesses whether the manuscript is suitable for peer review. Manuscripts that are outside the journal scope or do not meet basic scholarly standards may be rejected without external review.

4. Peer Review

Suitable manuscripts are sent for single-blind peer review. The journal normally seeks reports from at least two independent reviewers. Details are available on the Review Process page.

5. Editorial Decision

After review, the editor may decide to accept the manuscript, request minor revision, request major revision, invite resubmission after rejection, or reject the manuscript.

6. Author Revision

When revision is requested, authors must submit a revised manuscript and a point-by-point response to the reviewers' and editor's comments. Changes should be clearly highlighted or tracked where possible.

7. Final Acceptance

A manuscript is accepted only after the editor is satisfied that all scientific, ethical, and editorial requirements have been met.

8. Production

Accepted manuscripts enter production for copyediting, formatting, reference checking, metadata preparation, DOI registration, and proof preparation.

9. Author Proofs

The corresponding author may receive proofs for final checking. Authors should review proofs carefully and return corrections promptly. Only minor corrections are normally allowed at this stage.

10. Online Publication

The journal follows a continuous publication model. Once production is complete, articles are published online in the current annual volume and made freely available immediately.

11. Post-Publication Updates

After publication, any necessary corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, or updates are handled according to the publisher's editorial policies.
